Good morning, readers!
Today, we’ve got some news about the news.
We’re merging the weekly Water Agenda into our daily publications — the Arizona Agenda and the Tucson Agenda.
If you’re not already reading those publications and want to sign up, here are the links
That means you’ll see more dedicated water coverage in the daily publications, including deeper coverage of the 2026 election and its impact on Arizona’s hydrology.
Statewide water stories — the Legislature, the Colorado River, state budget fights over water — will show up in the Arizona Agenda.
Southern Arizona angles, including battles over AMAs, groundwater and the state laws that affect Baja Arizona, will run in the Tucson Agenda.
Arren Kimbel Sannitt, our resident water nerd, will be feeding both publications.
Bringing him into the daily publications will give us time to go deeper into the election season — and bring that water focus to a larger audience.
We’re redirecting our water coverage because we’re taking on the biggest civic project in the Agenda's history. We're partnering with the Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission to redesign and moderate their entire 2026 legislative debate program. New format, wider distribution, more candidates, more voters. (ICYMI: You can read the announcement here.)
It’s a big deal for the Agenda publications, but it’s gonna require some extra bandwidth.
We started the Water Agenda to make sure Arizona’s growing water problems and shrinking supply didn't get overlooked. After fifteen months on this beat, we know the players, the storylines and what's at stake.
Now, we’re bringing it into the main show.
